DELE A2 and CCSE results and validity: time frames, reviews and retaking the exams
DELE results are released between 2 and 3 months after the written test (about 3 months for the May and November exam sessions), and the diploma is valid indefinitely. CCSE results are released about 20 days later, and the certificate is valid for 4 years from its date of issue. If you do not pass the CCSE, you are entitled to a second registration without paying again. For the DELE, you must register again and retake all the tests.

How to check your grade
For the DELE, the grade certificate shows the 4 tests and 2 groups separately, as well as the minimum points required (30 per group). The CCSE certificate only shows the overall grade: pass («apto»), fail («no apto») or absent («no presentado»).
How to submit the result with your nationality application
- You can authorize the Ministry of Justice to check your results with Instituto Cervantes.
- Alternatively, you can submit a copy of the diploma or certificate. Certificates include a secure verification code that allows the paper copy to be verified.
If you do not pass
There is no free second attempt for the DELE. You must register for another exam session, pay again and take all the tests, even if you passed some of them. Before retaking the exam, check the breakdown by test. Because the grade is calculated by group, you may sometimes be only a few points short in a single test. Practise that part using the same format.
The time frames are approximate and depend on each exam session. Confirm them on the official Instituto Cervantes website.
